PENNSAUKEN, N.J.– Bob Hartman, former vice president of marketing at The Espoma Company and director of marketing at The Scotts Company, joins NPS this week to lead the marketing efforts and manage key accounts.
“When Scotts awarded NPS the distribution rights for independent retailers and regional chains earlier this year, we knew we had to bring in someone who was familiar with both the Scotts products as well as having the experience to deal with the dichotomy across multiple channels.” said Lindsey Chesbrough, president of National Prime Source. “Bob already knows the customer base and our speed to market will be greatly accelerated.” Lindsey added. “Bob has the experience to build national programs while being able to tailor them to be regionally relevant,” said Tom Medhurst, president of L&L Supply on the west coast.
Effective Oct. 1, Scotts will service independent retailers and regional chains through a distribution arrangement with National Prime Source and its affiliated distributors.
Scotts has determined consolidation within the distributor community will create a more efficient and effective network resulting in stronger sales and marketing programs for retailers. The new partnership will result in a customized marketing program for each region providing a competitive advantage for retailers.
Established in 1992, National Prime Source is a national distribution and logistics company providing a consistent level of dedication and service to many industries. NPS currently utilizes Arett Sales Corporation, BWI Companies, L&L Supply and VG Supply for its’distribution services in the lawn and garden channel. National Prime Source and Scotts are currently identifying the need for additional distribution with a target date of 7/1/15 for final selection.
